Ethiopian Forest Coffee

Tali Coffee

A coffee connected to the historic Kingdom of Kaffa, the birthplace of coffee’s name and one of the original homes of Arabica.

The Historic Kingdom of Kaffa

The Kingdom of Kaffa was founded in 1390 by Minjo, and this region is prehistoric for two distinct aspects in the world of coffee. Firstly, the name everyone knows as “coffee” actually originates from this region.

Secondly, Kaffa is also generally acknowledged, along with Jimma, as the origin place of Arabica coffees, with areas of original wild coffees still being harvested using methods that are centuries old.

The Kafficho people were forest dwellers who were arguably the first humans to have ever harvested and consumed coffee.

Forest Knowledge Passed Through Generations
